Content is a funny word. In the world of social media and smartphones we are all creating content all the time. All those photos we take of our dogs and put on Instagram? Yup, that’s content creation. Did you know that 95 million photos are uploaded to Instagram every day? (*Mind blown!) With so much ‘content’ floating around, how do you make sure that your business or brand is cutting through the noise?
Put simply, content is everything you create for your brand to talk to your audience. But unlike our four-legged friends’ photos, content creation for businesses and brand is designed with a specific goal, for a specific audience. Each piece of content has a clear purpose, story or message and a call to action. Each platform needs different attention, because it has a different audience using it. For example, Twitter has more young men using the platform than any other social media, while Instagram is predominantly used by women under 40. Your brand should be looking to tailor its content and messaging depending on the audience.
That’s where I can help! I love copywriting. Having been a journalist, a charity comms specialist and now a PR consultant, I have a vast experience writing copy in different styles and for different publications and purposes. Content creation is often the part of the PR campaign and brand strategy that your intended audience will see first – it’s the press release about your latest news, you e-newsletter, your social media post, a glossy magazine feature, advert or website copy. Content creation is a catch-all term for the myriad ways that your brand gets its story and message across to your target audience!
I can help you by creating:
- Press releases to tell your story.
- Social media posts.
- Thought-leadership articles.
- Magazine articles and features.
- First person articles and comment opportunities.
- Blogs and news articles for your website to help with SEO searches. (*Blogs are a great way to create content that can be shared across other platforms as well. If your business isn’t blogging in 2021, it really should be.)
- Copy for your website.
- Wording for your e-newsletter, flyer, brochure or adverts.
- Speeches, presentations and reports. (*As a journalist I was used to taking complex reports and turning them into punchy and interesting reading!)
- Any writing your business or brand needs – you name it and I have written it!
